Below is our completed video, we are very pleased on the outcome and believe the video is to a good standard.

Advertisement - Second Draft
Today we placed more information onto our advert, this is because we felt we needed to give it a more personal touch. We added three new things to this advert, the 'HMV' Logo, a logo representing Moss' recording company and Allie Moss' website address.
Below is a clear picture of Moss' logo;
Below is a clear picture of Moss' logo;
The picture had to be placed into photoshop and the black background had to be added to make the writing more visible. However when applying this to our advert we would have to take the black background away and rescale the image so that it will sit better within the frame,
We also added the 'HMV' logo onto the advert, to do this we went on the HMV website and save the logo as an image. We then placed it into photoshop and using the Lasso Tool we could select areas of the image which we didn't want. This allowed us to be left with the HMV text, after rescaling it we could place it onto our advert. Below is an image of the overall advert;
We are happy with this advert as we think it mirrors the image of our music video and our digipak, we also believe that the advert is to a professional standard and works well with our production.
Our Advert - First Draft
We have recently began to design our advertisement, we tried to design it to be similar to the digipak, below is an image of our first draft;

Planning: Advertisement Initial Photos
Today I modelled for pictures which we could use for our advertisement. As it was windy out we wanted to experiment with my hair blowing in the wind, this meant placing it across my face and picking it up and letting it drift in the wind. We got some pictures which were then edited, and now displayed below;
We believe this image is decent, as I am looking directly into the camera, this makes it eye catching for the audience. However this cannot be seen as a good image for our advert, this is because the text being used will be over her face and therefore covering her eyes. Which we see and the strongest part of the image, so it is unlikely we will be using this.

This image stood out to us, and we liked the emotion on sarah's face, also the movement of her hair compared to the stillness of her face made the image stronger. The problems we have with this image however is the emotion on her face. We feel that the image will be on the digipak and will contrast other songs on the CD. Although it matches the song 'Corner' it may not match some of her happier songs. Also the same as the image above it will be hard to get the writing over the top of the image, as it will mean writing over her face.
Here is the image again except in black and white, we do not like this one as much as we would prefer it to be in colour.
This image is our favourite, as the girls face is not in the image the audience can read her expression however they want, this means if they are listening to one of the sad songs on the album then they may think the girl is upset in the photo, however if they are listening to one of the faster songs they may think that the girl is smiling and will interpret the image differently. Also there is a lot of movement in the image, which we was trying to achieve and the red of the hair is eye catching
We decided to add 'SAMPLE' to the images to see which ones would sit better with the picture, we decided we liked the third image better, this is because some of the image isn't really lost when the text is added. This is why we are going to use the third image

Magazine Advertisement Analysis
By researching an advert of the real and successful band 'Paramore' I can understand what is needed to make a successful advert that is affective, which will help me in my project when creating an advert.
Below is the advert I have chosen to analyse is Paramore's for the release of their new album.
Below is the advert I have chosen to analyse is Paramore's for the release of their new album.
I think this advert is very effective as it is very eye catching, although it is not as bright as many other adverts it there are different images within the frame which makes it effective. Many artists are unable to put too many images in one frame as it can look to crammed and overwhelming, however they have balanced the images out effectively.
Also the ginger hair of the girl is eye catching as it stands out from the rest of the colours, she is also closer to the camera than the rest of the people and you focus your attention more on her, this is because she is the lead singer of the band Hayley William's.
The words on the advert however are in contrast to the images on the advert with it saying 'BRAND NEW EYES' the words brand new make you think everything is new, but the wood used for the background of the picture looks old and dirty, so therefore shows a contrast.
Finally unlike other adverts this one has information on it about the bands album and tells you when it is out and what it is called.
Relating this to our project
We can relate this to our project because it is quite a vintage looking image, which is what we might go for when advertising our song. Also it makes us think whether we want to overcrowd our frame or keep it simple yet effective.

Advertisement - Ideas for the Advert
We have decided to do some research into what we would include on our advert, the images shown below are ones which a group member has taken for his photography course, we believe when creating our advert we may be able to recreate some of these images using our characters.
This is image is our favourite, we believe we could easily recreate it if we have to for our advert. The photograph is very emotive and strong, it is also eye catching, it will be simple to use white writing over the image, or writing around the image.
I do not like this image as much as the previous one, however I feel that it is still strong, the emotion between the boy and girl easily mirrors our music video and it will be simple to recreate this photograph. Furthermore, like the previous image it will be simple to place text over the image without ruining the picture, this means it can work well for an advert.
This is my least favourite of the three images, as the two peoples faces are clear within the photograph. The expression on the males face is too happy for that which we think will link well with our music video. Also with the way the photograph was taking it will be hard to place writing over the top without writing over a face or ruining the photograph.
Overall, we will look at taking a variety of photographs to put on our advert and will later chose which we believe is the strongest image

Advertisement, component of the advert
Advertisements are important in promoting a music video, however to have a successful advert it has to involve different components. If it is advertising the release of a CD or an album the advert should display a date, the date would be the release date of the album. Many posters advertising songs often say the date somewhere, on the image below you can see it says 12.2.08 for the release date of Britney Spear's CD. Also the image on this poster is related to the name of the album 'Circus' the poster looks identical to one you would find that would be advertising a real Circus or a fun fair, this relates the image.
The image also says 'Britney Spears' in bold lettings and with the name of the CD with patterns to either side to make it stand out. This means all the information that is needed is on the CD.

If a poster was advertising a tour and not an album instead of having the album name it would have the name of the tour instead.
If all of these components are used it can mean the advertisement will be professional looking and to a high standing. We are hoping to take all of this into consideration when producing our advert.
